Every morning I go into each of my kids room and pick out an outfit for them. Yes there are days that they vito my choice and pick out a different look, but most days they have the same taste as me when it comes to what they wear.
On this day, my son said "OK, now let me pick out your outfit!" So naturally I let him as I was very curious what he would pick out.
I do not have a walk-in closet (though I desperately need one), so I have three different sections of hanging clothes (two in my closet, one wardrobe rack on the wall) and I also have a dresser.
Eight minutes later he emerges with this peplum and these chevron shorts. Seriously!
Truth be told, I forgot I owned these shorts. And I'm not sure I would have thought to pair the two but when he showed me I was like, "Babe, I'd totally wear that. I love it!" His face lit up and he said "yeah, I thought so."

I jazzed it up a bit by adding black and gold accessories and a bright summer lip.

I, OF COURSE, will be asking him to do this again for me. Was this beginners luck? Maybe. Does he have the "fashion bug" too? Maybe.

Do you ever let anyone else pick out your clothes for you? Have you ever asked someone six (or under) to pick you out an outfit?
I say give it a try, you may be surprised like I was. ;)

Product Review: Sunology

I am forever on the hunt for natural skin products. Throw in the fact that I recently had a surgery to remove skin cancer and pre cancer cells in multiple spots on my body (posts here and here) and I now find myself on the hunt for great sunscreen for the summer.
Sun protection is more important to me now and I have myself and my family's skin to take care of. This is a responsibility I take very seriously.

Enter Sunology. "Here at Sunology, we're committed to producing highly effective suncare products inspired by nature. We don't believe chemical sunscreens are the answer. Instead, we dedicate ourselves to developing natural sunscreen products and educating consumers on the facts of sun safety while providing a powerful alternative: the highest SPF recommended by the FDA made with natural active ingredients (SPF 50)."
 photo 39a9e9bf-a6b0-4cf2-8d8b-6c0a1b7f1152_zps4f418dac.jpg

I tried both the body and face on myself for one week and I have to say I am hooked. The face sunscreen has worked great under my everyday makeup and even though I have been outside daily, my skin feels healthy and not one spot of redness! I do reapply every couple of hours.

I also really love Sunology for kids. Both my children have sensitive skin and neither of them had any sort of irritation to it. I used it on both their faces and bodies for one week daily as well. Again, we were outside all week long and I reapplied every 80 minutes or so. Their skin looks great and no burns to tell of!

I would say this product is a must try for the summer! It doesn't have a "sunscreen smell" and a little really does go a long way.

Have you ever tried Sunology? Do you use sunscreen daily like my family does?

Yesterday was a beautiful day so I decided to take the kids for a picnic. We met up with my hubby's parents and grandma too! Yep lunch at the park with the grandparents and great grandma was a great way to spend a summer afternoon.

I decided to keep it super casual with white denim and a tee. I finished the look off with flats and a few silver accessories and lets not forget this amazing bag I packed filled with yummy eats and drinks!

We had a wonderful time! We ate then the kids played with their grandparents while myself and great grandma chatted about great summer reads.

I was recently asked by Vienne Milano to try out a couple of pairs of their luxury hosiery.
Being a lover of all things undergarment, I decided I needed to try these beauties out ASAP.

Here is how I styled "Claudia" in black. I kept the pallet dark by mixing black and blue and added color in my accessories.

These Italian thigh highs are amazing! They are so comfortable and I loved that they did not slide down my leg even though I had no garter on.

The packaging is beautiful too. Here are a few photos of the box and the items I was gifted:

As you can see in the last photo, the inside of the top of each hosiery has a silicone band. It is comfortable and effective in keeping these thigh highs in place all day or night.

Have you ever tried Vienne Milano's thigh highs? I would highly recommend them for any occasion and their wedding collection is amazing too!

Well, my outside one anyway. If we do not have sports/school/play dates/movie plans, we are always outside in our yard.

I've owned this romper since 2010 and it is still one of my go-to's for cozy home wear. This day was warm during the day but cooled down quite a bit in the late afternoon. This long cardigan was just the thing to take my outfit from day to night.
And what do you do with day three hair? A hat and a side braid of course!

Sharing is caring! What can I say, she has great taste. ;)

What do you wear for lazy days around the house. Do you have a favorite item of clothing that you've owned for years and have no plans of getting rid of it?

Toddler Fashion: Summer Glam Outfit

How adorable is this floral sequin dress? I love it and so does my little bean. I was very drawn to the sequin front and exposed zipper back. For sure something I would rock out if I was her age!

I really like that the dress comes with capri leggings as my daughter loves get down on the ground and play as often as possible.
A great pair of capri leggings turns all summer dresses into a play appropriate looks. No mom wants to run around pulling their little ladies dress down all day! ;)

This outfit was perfect for a family party over the weekend.

What do you think of this look? Do you pair your girl's summer dresses with capris or shorts under too?

The Pink Passion

All the destination weddings in Florida, all the birthday parties in California, and basically all the things in this world are about colors. The baby pink color is now trending in many fashion collections of famous designers. It is a pretty color, that’s easy to wear and enjoyable to look at.
The summer is almost here and this baby pink matches your tanned skin like no other color. This year the majestic pink is seen so often, that it became almost a must for the designers. Now, take a look at all these famous names: Sonia Rykiel, Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Feretti, Miu Miu, Max Mara, Isabel Marant, Emporio Armani, Christian Dior, Balmain, Balenciaga, Antonio Marras and Alexander Wang. In the collections of all these notorious brands you’ll find pink clothes.

The meaning of the pink color is unconditional love and nurturing. This combination of red and white that results in different shades, starting with the baby pink and ending up with the hot Fuchsia is always bringing up some light to the look. The Berry, Salmon and the Watermelon pink are all beautiful and fresh. In the summer it looks good on your tanned body, in winter it makes every sweater sweet and it makes you look like a candy. Pink is the very feminine color, which has the power to add some flirty and childish attitude. But it also works as a neutral, very calm and silent shade.  The stereotype of the association between pink and white girls comes from the color’s sweetness.

The pink Laboutin or Jimmy Choo shoes are not only sweet, but sexy and emerging some crazy vibes. That’s what we all want high heels to do.  The pink ones are basically talking for you, saying that you’re sweet but there’s something full of sexy madness in you. If you look at the latest Alexander Wang collection, you’ll see some crazy pink shoes that are not only extremely fresh but also beautiful and feminine.
The pink passion of the 2014 gives to women all around the world, the opportunity to look sweet and fashionable.

What do you think the color pink? Would you use it as your wedding color?

I am so excited to be in the six month of the Hormel Foods Extended Blogger Program.

This month, Hormel sent me some great new products to work with:

Forget the fast food! For a quick and wholesome snack, pack this tasty Cobb Salad Lettuce Wrap featuring HORMEL Chunk Chicken and HORMEL Real Bacon Bits.

Here is what you will need:

  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 4 hard-cooked large eggs, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup ranch salad dressing

Directions:
On platter, arrange each ingredient. Fill lettuce leaves with chicken, bacon bits, tomato, cheeses and eggs. Drizzle with dressing; roll up lettuce.

We used romaine lettuce and different cheeses to fit our families tastes and dietary needs. The great thing about this recipe is there is no wrong way to make it!

Here is the finished product:

My entire family LOVED these. Yes, even my kids ate the up very fast. I can't wait to make these again and maybe even add avocado this time.

What is your favorite summer-time snack or what recipes do you enjoy cooking with your family during the summer?

Outfit: Another Weekend, Another Date Night

The date nights are continuing between myself and my hubby. Having our sitter home from college is really a great thing. To know our kids are home safe with someone we trust (and honestly we fell like she is family), allows us to get out and have some adult fun!

I have not worn this jumpsuit in about a year now. Why not? I have no idea! I was digging in my closet and found it in dry cleaning plastic and got so excited. I kind of forgot I owned it. (Does this mean I own too many clothes? No. The answer is always no.) ;)

I decided to pair the jumpsuit with a white blazer and lots of gold accessories. I finished the look off by adding mirror sunnies and a mint bag.

Romper: Express (NBC's Fashion Star)  // Blazer: Piperlime // Shoes: c/o Just Fab // Necklace: House of Gemmes // Bag: Lulus // Cuff: c/o Sole Society // Sunnies: Ray Ban // Large Ring: Banana Republic // Watch: Fossil // Druzy Ring: EG Jewelry

This outfit was the perfect thing for our date. I ditched the blazer at dinner giving it a more sexy feel and when we went to the movies, I had a nice warm blazer to put on (why is it always so cold in movies?).

Do you like my black and white date outfit? What do you wear to balance sexy and chic?
