Product Review: ShamZees

My kids are currently two and four, so when I was asked to do a product review on ShamZees pillow eating friends I decided this would be right up their ally.

There are six different kinds for your kids to choose from (unicorn, ladybug, tiger, poodle, bulldog, green monster) and at only $19.99 each they are well worth the money.

Here is what ShamZees look like:
The best part is that they fit any standard bed pillow. As soon as I put the pillow in my kids both took turns hugging him, laying on him, and finally making his mouth eat their arms! ;)
ShamZees are machine washable, great for home or travel, and make a cute friend for any kid over three years of age. (My daughter is two and LOVES it. Use your discression.)

In the past week our green monster has stayed in our living room. The kids take turns using him as a pillow when we watch movies, I've caught my daughter having a tea party with him, and at one point my son was driving his cars and making him eat them.
It's so much more then a pillow case, our ShamZee has become a friend for sure!
You can buy your ShamZee here!
Anyone have one already? What do your kids think of them? Cute Easter idea, no?

Outfit: Family Party

Over the weekend I attended my mother-in-laws b-day party (Lake House Lyn) at Kaitlyn's new home. The house is gorgeous, the party was wonderful complete with signature drinks, and the b-day girl for sure had a great time.
Here is what I wore:

Top: Swap w/ Kaitlyn (Nordstrom last year), Denim: 7 for all Mankind, Shoes: Dolce Vita, Necklace: Ax + Apple, Because I shop Too much Necklace: Baublebar, Beaded Bracelets: C/O Juicy J Jewels, Turquios Bracelet: Beach vendor in Mexico, Watch: Fossil, Rings: Stella & Dot

Here are some shots from the night on instagram (SADBblog and SistersMarie):

I'm not sure how, but I am going to try to persuade Kaitlyn to sell me this top. I am in love with it and am having a hard time placing it back in the Friendswap bag. ;)

Outfit: The Dressed up Sweatshirt

There is nothing more cozy then a sweatshirt, there is also nothing more "stay-at-home-mom" then a sweatshirt! lol
Here is how I jazzed up my everyday look:

Sweatshirt: Dots, Denim: Old Navy, Scarf: Charlotte Russe, Flats: Just Fab, Bag: Rachel Zoe, Hat: Swell, Sunnies: Michael Kors, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: C/O Novobeads

The beading on the shoulders helps to not make this top the standard sweatsuit wear. I decided to pair it with a bold colored flat, cute scarf, fishtail braid (tutorial here), fringe bag, and one of my new favorite charm bracelets (you must check out Novobeads).
What do you think?
Does this look scream stay-at-home-mommy or did I pull off the well put together sweatshirt look?

*The winner of the Zulily giveaway (featuring Adrienne Vittadini ) laptop bag is: #9 Kyla! I will pass your email address along and they will contact you with shipping details. Congrats, and thanks to all who entered!

Outfit: Family Photo Shoot

Over the weekend we had family portraits taken.
My aunt bid on an item for my children at a Wings charity event last year and the basket had a gift certificate for a family photo shoot. It was about to expire so we had to throw outfits together in 2 days. I went to Target and found these cute clothes for the kids:
Dress, Pants, and blazer: Target, Button up: Von Maur (last year)

I didn't want to be too matchy matchy but I did want to look cohesive. My hubby ended up wearing gray slacks and a white shirt and here is what I wore:

Blouse: Target: Jeans: Level 99 via ThirtySomethingFashion Box Service, Shoes: C/O Just Fab, Necklace: Loft, Beaded Bracelet: C/O Juicy J Jewels, Watch: Fossil, Bracelet: C/O House of Gemmes, Sunnies: Prada

Is it weird that we all got dressed to match my daughters dress? It was the first item I feel in love with so I decided we should all wear blues hues, white, gray, and yellow.
What do you think? Are we too matchy for your taste? What do you wear for family portraits?

Get Fest Ready Fashion Show

I had the honor of attending the Get Fest Ready show at Bloomigdales in Chicago on Thursday night. The entire show was styled by Jacqueline Rezak (yes celebrity stylist and Rad and Refined owner...last post seen here).
Here is what I wore to the show:
Blouse: Victoria's Secret, Bandeau: Shop Frankies, Jeans: 7 for all Mankind, Boots: C/O Just Fab, Bag: Michael Kors, Hat: Swap w/ Kaitlyn (gap)(similar), Watch: Fossil, Ring: Modcloth, Chain Bracelet & Necklace: House of Gemmes, Basketweave Bracelet: C/O T + J Designs

The set up was beautiful and there was a DJ, free makeup touch ups by MAC, free hair touch ups done by Red Door Spa, and drinks to enjoy while we waited for the show to start.
The music was amazing and I found myself singing while the show was going on...that's what you get for playing "Dancing on my own" by Robyn! ;)

Here are the looks Jacqueline styled:

I would wear all of these outfits! They are perfect for SXSW, Coachella, Lollapalooza, or any other spring/summer festival this year.
To be honest, looks 3, 9, 10, and 12 I would wear as everyday wear!
I loved all the house of harlow jewelry and that leather vest in the last look I am drooling over!
You can shop all of these outfits at Bloomingdales online or at your local store in the Y.E.S. section.
I think Jacqueline was dead on. You would make heads turn in any of these looks for sure. I feel like they all have a bit of edgy swagger to them and that's always a plus to feel great in what you are wearing.

What do you think? Would you wear any of these looks? Which are your favorites?

Outfit: Everyday Wear

I found this top in the latest FriendSwap bag from Kaitlyn and I was super excited.
We had swapped the same top (in pink) back in October and I loved it so much, it was hard to give it back. I'm glad she has it in many colors and is willing to share. ;)
Here is how I styled her Loft blouse:

Top: Swap w/ Kaitlyn (Loft), Jeans: Gap, Flats: C/O Just Fab, Hat: Swell, Beaded Bracelet: C/O Lotus Blossom Design, Watch: Fossil, Stud bracelet: Dots, Lip Color: Rose Blossom by Bobbi Brown

Perfect for everyday wear and super cozy too.
Now can we talk about how amazing this bracelet is? It's part of the Lotus Blossom jewelry collection and you can get your very own by entering the current giveaway ($40 credit to their online store)!
What do you think? Can you tell it's spring....my braids have begun. ;)

Outfit: Yellow, Gold, Green, & Leopard Print

I just love this color and print combo. There is something so simple yet chic about a pencil skirt paired with a tee shirt, no?

Blazer and Skirt: Piperlime, Tee: Stylemint, Shoes: BISTM-Tiffany's Closet, Earrings: C/O Silver Speck, Bow Ring: T + J Designs, Calypso Medallion Bangle and Monaco Onyx Wide Cuff: Willow House Jewelry, Chain Bracelet: House of Gemmes, Watch: Fossil, Necklace: C/O Sarah Aghili, Clutch: C/O Just Fab

This outfit was perfect for the meeting I had and then I kept the tee and skirt on for the rest of the day at home.
My hubby thought it was cute to come home to me cooking in it. Men are so funny.
What do you think? Ever pair a basic tee with a more dressed up look?

Outfit: St. Patrick's Day

I am Irish and for as long as I can remember I have gotten all dressed up in over the top green on St. Patrick's Day. This year was no exception.
Here is my "luck of the Irish" look:

Tee: ThirtySomethingFashion Box Service, Cardigan: Forever 21, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Earrings: C/O Silver Speck, Bracelets and Bracelet in hair: Dots, Watch: Fossil, Ring: House of Gemmes, Sunnies: Prada

The only difference between this year and years past is that I did not drink...at all. I actually wanted to drink beer the night before, but I wasn't feeling great and neither was the hubby so we skipped it.
It's funny what used to be a binge drinking holiday has become a kids crafts and family fun day. I think this means I'm officially grown up. ;)
What did you do for St. Patty's day?

7 For all Mankind Denim- Worth the price?

YES!
I own 2 pair of Jiselle style 7 for all mankind jeans. I was hesitant at first to purchase because of the price. Can a pair of jeans really cost this much and be worth it?
So my quest began... I started with a black pair (purchased 13 months ago). Here is how I have styled my black jeans over the past year:

A year later and they are still going strong. They still fit perfectly and don't look worn out.

Since I loved my black pair so much, I purchased the blue version (Jiselle style 7 for all Mankind) 9 months ago. I have worn these many times on the blog:

I dry clean both pair to keep them in great shape.
I can wear them 2 or 3 times without washing because they do NOT stretch out in the knees or butt nor to they stretch out throughout the day.
They are just as snug now as they were when I got them in early June last year.

I would say if you are going to splurge on denim, 7 for all Mankind is well worth the money.
